Up at 5:30 a.m today for an appointment on my calendar that I'm pretty sure doesn't actually exist, but I have no way to check, so...I'm up. I was up anyway. I was up all damn night.
We rode 14.5 miles yesterday. Our first ride of the year was 4 miles. My body was tapped out by the time we got home. There was no coasting on this ride. It was 2 hours of constant peddling. Before we left neither of us had eaten much. For me, that was less than a cup of my faux potato salad (my moms recipe with cauliflower instead of potatoes), perhaps an ounce of raw milk cheddar and a piece of no-sugar, no-flour banana bread. So, we took a couple of beef sticks to eat right before the ride, and some pistachios for after. When we got back, we were both just spent and needed to eat right away. I had <cup of brussels sprouts, 100g grass fed burger and another piece of banana bread. We stayed up late waiting for our daughter to get home and had a couple of drinks, which for me was wine. All total though, my calorie counting app said I still had hundreds of calories in my 'bank.' My legs ached all night and I experienced hours of night sweats that kept me up alternating between the blazing power surges that made me sweat and the freezing that resulted from being soaked. The temperature outside plummeted last night and we didn't turn the heat back on inside, so it was freezing in here. Somehow I need to function today. DH was up 3.5 lb. when he weighed in! I got on the upstairs analog and it looked like a 2 lb. gain up here. I have cramps this morning too. I didn't even bother going downstairs to weigh on the Wii. There is no conceivable way I could have actually gained weight after yesterday, so I don't care what registers on the scale. Perhaps tomorrow after sleep and a Epsom salt soak I hope to have tonight the scale will be nicer to me. I would also love to fit in a nice yoga today if I can find the energy. I need the stretch. If not, tomorrow. Meh. On with my day.

AuthorI struggled with my weight for over 20 years. I tried everything to lose weight. Yes, I did 'eat less, move more' repeatedly, convinced that doing the same thing over and over would someone yield different results. Desperate, having diligently done all the 'right' things and being told by several doctors that there was nothing wrong with me except that I wasn't trying hard enough, in 2009 I tried what seemed crazy: Dr. Simeons Hcg protocol. I lost 85 lb. Archives
